My family Summer 2013.
ABOUT MYSELF
I was born in the late sixties (you can do the math) in a quaint little town called Wertheim in southern Germany. All the things American's often long for were part of daily life. There were two rivers, a grand castle overlooking the town, small cafe's, pub's, "Biergaerten", lots of "Fachwerkhaeuser" (in one of which I grew up), old churches, arches, cobble stone streets, etc.
Once finished with my business degree/school I started working and became more interested in crafts to fill my free time. Growing up I loved to paint, but I looked for new inspirations and so I picked up crocheting, knitting, baking, making preserves, and gardening.
In my early thirties I met my husband. He had come to Germany to study and this encounter brought me to the US in the year 2000. Who would have thought that I was brave enough to move an ocean away, but love is rather blind. We added two children in 2004 and 2006 and in the fall of 2012 my youngest daughter went off to 1st grade. This sad day ushered in the free time to rediscover my love for crafts. In 2013 the collection of "stuff" had grown rather large and my husband asked what I wanted to do with all of it. After Some thought I decided it is time to share it with others and here we are.....
Here are just two other aspects of me worth mentioning:
Besides taking care of my three loved ones and "making things" I love to read fiction of the "lighter" kind, movies, gardening, swimming, volunteering at school.
My favorite time of day is after lunch enjoying some coffee/espresso and a dessert and the hour prior to my bed time when all the rest of the house is already asleep.
I hope you enjoy my makings and if so, let me know.
