Log Angels
with tin wings and grape wood heads.
I screwed the wings in place once I had them cut out with tin cutters. The head is hot glued on top of a galvanized large nail.
The pattern on the wing is embossed with a hammer.

Wood Angels
All angels are cut out of pine wood. They are colored with acrylic paints on front and back, embellishments are added using fabric, 3 D paints, glitter, fabric etc.
.
Once finished they are glossed with high gloss spray. I usually spread them around the house during Christmas season by just leaning them against corners, fireplaces, windows. A few of them received a small wood board screwed onto the back side and then I stick them in planters. Just pick a 2 inch wide and 1/4 inch thick piece of wood, cut to desired length and screw in about 1 inch up from the bottom with 2 small screws.
If you want them to withstand the outside elements I suggest using some kind of clear boat sealer rather than just gloss spray from the can.
I got the idea form a German Craft book entitled:
Die Sachenmacher WEIHNACHTSWERKSTATT
You can purchase the book at http://www.jako-o.com. I placed a direct link on the title named above.
I actually own the whole series of books and my children love to pick projects out of them.
It is a great place to look for crafts anyways, so you may wan to check them out.
Here is a view of the back side of some of the angels. I love even this side. So cute.
Pom Pom Angles
I got the idea form the Better Home and Gardens Special Interest
Magazine "Holiday Crafts 2013" and I changed it up a bit.
The Pom Pom on the white angle is very thick and dense, the red one turned out fluffier, because I wrapped the yarn only in 2 layers on the ring. There are very different effects to be achieved depending on the yarn one uses. I also used a white on the first layer and then a sparkly pale tan on the upper layers. So you can receive a ring like pattern by layering different yarns on top of one another. A bit hard to see on the photo. Sorry for that.
"The Holiday Crafts" magazine from BHG is a for sure purchase every year for me. I collect them and now own 5. Lot's of easy, affordable crafts to make.
So if you want to make it yourself, you may want to purchase the magazine or check out their web site.

Here is the red Pom Pom Angel.
I used 3 color yarn and layered it only twice on the cardboard ring
to have a more fluffy, less dense appearance.
I hope you also have fun making these cute ornaments.

Large Angel for decorating the house around Christmas. She is about 60 cm tall (about more than half a yard).
Large Angel
I designed him myself. The base dress is made with thick felt, which I ordered online at Filz Felt. This felt is 5 mm thick! Great stuff to work with. (I also made slippers from it.)
Here is a link to their web page: http://www.filzfelt.com/
The head is made from a small plastic ball covered in cast plaster rolls. I added wings using regular felt and wire.
