"Rotweinkuchen" (Red Wine Cake or Chocolate Cake)
Ingredients:
300 gr. sugar (a bit more than 10 oz.)
300 gr. flour (a bit more than 10 oz.)
300 gr. butter (a bit less than 3 sticks of butter)
6 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoon's cacao powder
150 gr. chocolate sprinkles
(the ones one adds to cookie tops or ice cream)
You can estimate the sprinkles, a bit more does not matter.
2 Teaspoons of vanilla sugar or 2 packages (found in import
stores)
125 ml or about a 1/4 cup red wine
1/2 cup powdered sugar for top (optional)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 356 F.
Put all of the ingredients together at once (except for the powdered sugar) and mix.
Pour dough in a round form as seen on photo and bake for about 50 min. then check with stick, may add another 10 min.
Done! Let cool and add a bit powdered sugar to top, just a bit like a light dust, it is only for looks and does not change the taste.
This cake freezes well! Just let defrost at room temperature and enjoy again.

If you need to convert the grams, milliliters etc. to spoons, cups, pints, ounces being US, UK, AU or any other odd measuring amount, do not worry about 100 % absolutes. Being close is usually just fine.
Below is a link to a converter web page I like to use. But there are plenty more sites out there to pick from.
