"Flaedlessuppe mit Quark- oder Fruchttaschen"
(Broth with German style pancakes and danish pastries)
This soup was usually served with danish style pastry or cornbread when I grew up. No chicken or meat added since the protein is in the pancake dough. I pasted the pancake recipe also on the bottom.
You need any kind of broth, beef works the best for my family, but vegetable broth works fine as well.
Add some frozen carrots and peas to the broth as well as frozen or fresh parsley, salt, pepper and some ground nutmeg if you like this kind of spice.
Cut pancake like shown below.
You can make this for just 3-4 or even 10 people.

"Pfannenkuchen"
(Pan cakes German style)
Ingredients dough: Ingredients for toppings:
6 eggs - applesauce
2 cups milk - any kind of jam/syrup etc.
1 cup + 1 Tbsp flour - mushrooms with gravy
- onion and bacon
1 Tbsp of butter
almost anything works
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together.
Heat non stick pan over medium, add 1/2 tbsp. of butter and then scoop 1 -2 ladles
of dough into pan, so it covers the whole bottom about 1/8 of an inch. Flip when bottom is
also almost cooked for half a minute. Keep doing this until all dough is used up. Makes about
4-6 pancakes.
You get a rather thick kind of pancake. It is not at all fluffy, see photo.
Leftover can be cut in small strips and added to plain chicken soup as a hearty dish the next day.
Enjoy!
