"Hacksteak mit roter Beete und Karpern"
(Thin beef patty with red beets and capers)
Recipe feeds 6
(serve with mashed potatoes or just potato with butter/salt any vegetable like peas, broccoli or just green salad)
This is a very juicy style ground beef steak, I usually go very lean on the meat like 93 % lean and it does not feel dry to eat at all.
My kids love them.
Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef (go leaner)
1 egg
2-3 tbs. bread crumbs
pinch salt and pepper
1/2 cup of cubed (small like carrot cubes you buy with frozen peas) pickled red beets
4 tbs. of the pickled beet juice from their jar/can
2 tbs. of rinsed capers from jar/glass
1 small onion (cut small, almost minced or larger, if you do not mind the looks)
Directions:
Put all the above ingredients in a bowl and mix, form hand shape patties and I really mean hand shape so oval not round, about 0.5 inch thick.
Heat non stick pan with some oil and brown patties for 1 min. on each side and transfer to oven safe dish. Cover with lid or aluminum foil and bake at 350 F for 20 min.
Serve with any sides you may like.
Done!
Guten Appetit!
